Oh for Pete's sake--her purchases telegraph that she was having sex with someone other than her husband not at all that she was abused. Battered women's shelters don't have a dress code and don't make you bring your own sheets. It's not camp.

There's also no way shelter employees would keep silent this long a family think some had died in 9/11 even if it were a breach of protocol.

How can people just disappear? Like ow do you support yourself without a SSN? You can't get a job without a SSN unless its under the table nanny/maid/day laborer and I don't see a former doctor doing that.

These aren't potholes. The woman she was seen on the store video tapes was probably her girlfriend. Buying a dress, bed sheets and lingerie--they were shopping to celebrate their affair or new life together. The shopping bags are wherever this woman lived. The other woman on the tape hasn't been identified or reported missing because she isn't. Sneha is seen on the lobby video tape at her apartment because she was vacillating about leaving her husband.

She used the turmoil of 9/11 to make a clean break. It's the reverse of when a British man who was reported missing after the tsunami in Thailand, but was actually in jail. He lied about a vacation, but his alibi was busted with a disaster. She used a disaster to give her an alibi.

Years ago I watched a segment on 60 Minutes about a married man with a baby and a toddler who seemingly disappeared on a snowy night to buy his wife ice cream. His car was left abandoned on the road. His wife was convinced that it was foul play, but the police were convinced he walked away from his life. He came forward after the interview because watching his kids on tv proved too much on his sense of guilt.

It's absolutely disgusting that her name appears on the tributes because There's zero proof that she was there and a lot of people really did die that day. The Windows on the World scenario was put forth and probably wishful thinking by a grieving mother. Understandably her family wants to believe she died a hero vs. completely cutting them off and selfishly letting them believe the worst. She made that decision then and will not want to come forward now because she would be seen as even more despicable as she's viewed by many now.

I agree with this also. The previous poster says they knew her - why do you think she bought all that stuff, including three pairs of shoes which someone would presumably not buy for a friend, if she were planning on killing herself?

The husband is super sketchy including the fact that he agreed to the story but would not share what the private investigator found. Then again they obviously had a really odd relationship considering that she often didn't come home overnight and it didn't seem to bother him. It's possible the investigator found she was doing some more sexual stuff and the husband did not want it made public because he knew it would make it less credible and/or cared about that she died in the WTC.

I believe this is the truth. There's a very large network of people who help abused women do this kind of disappearing.

I'm not saying she was one, but maybe she hated her life enough to lie to get the resources available to help. Or perhaps it was some kind of LGBTQ+ group who helped. The date could have just been a total coincidence.

I just don't think she perished on 9/11 in the towers as a hero. There are too many missing gaps in accounting for her whereabouts on 9/10 and the early morning of 9/11 for that to be a good explanation.

Someone earlier mentioned she could have met her demise on 9/10 as the victim of foul play. That is so eerie to think about and it also makes me wonder, could there be others? Were there other people killed on 9/11 or even in the days following that we just don't know about? Since communication systems were all down that day and even some the next day, could relatives have assumed a lack of communication from their loved ones in the city meant that they'd perished in the towers?

There is no indication that she was abused, is there? It sounds like Sneha pretty much did what she wanted to do. I do think that she had some issues in her personal life that may have seemed extremely overwhelming at the time. I would think that her recent professional problems coupled with the legal issues that she was having would have been pretty stressful - not just on Sneha but on her husband, too. She was going out and staying out as a way to escape her problems. Maybe 9/11 happened and she saw the opportunity to break free of her responsibilities and troubles and start a new worry free life for herself.
