This is so weird that you, as a grandparent, are so aware and attentive to this. My parents, who were themselves parents of NMSF and otherwise very accomplished kids, are not this invested in their grandkids’ college applications. You need to chill out, if you are in fact an actual grandparent. Celebrate your grandkids no matter what college they go to or what their test scores. You are not part of the “we”. This attitude is what is messed up about the world our young people are growing up in.

Hi parents. As a student that was named here, I just have to say that this makes me truly uncomfortable and the competition between parents at these schools is truly revolting. I am glad my parents never participated in any of this crap and fostering my intelligence in a healthy non-competitive nature.

Why did you bump an old thread just to say "my name is on this list"? No one would have looked otherwise. But in any event, report the post to Jeff and ask him to delete it. That said, it is public information.

DC (attends a Big 3) was notified that they are one of the 2,500 students selected nationally this year as a National Merit Finalist. Finalist selection comes with a scholarship award from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
