Good to see the Obama's gritting off the wealthy. They learned well from Bill and Hill.

Unlike most people, I actually kind of knew the Obamas, pre-everything! I lived in their building when I was in medical school and residency and knew them in that sort of social, neighbor way. Their kids were very, very young when I lived by them (they lived in a two-bedroom condo). They weren't flashy people and Michelle is actually a very, very funny person, but is definitely reserved.

If anything, they were so normal. They were a working couple with small kids. Michelle was actually the breadwinner, Barak was teaching at U of C and working downstate in the government legislature. They reminded me of your typical working couple with small kids. I saw them a few times at the Medici or at Doc films on a date and they seemed perfectly happy. I didn't see the grandmother much, but again I was busy with school and working.

I actually moved to DC after the Obamas did. I didn't keep up with them but we do have friends in common through our social circles.

Not PP, but the article clearly says that it wasn't known if Obama was on board or not. At any rate, if you believe that taking a separate flight is confirmation that their marriage is fake/in trouble/over, you are simple. Sorry to be the one to break it to you.

I think you women are viewing the Obamas through your unsuitable/barely tolerable relationships with your spouses.

My DH and I have been together for 23 years. He is the love of my life and we are affectionate towards one another (for some reason, especially so in public!). The Obamas are the real deal. True affection can not be faked.
