Now that we know Ryan knew all about the Russian money going into the GOP's coffers, it's a touching reminder of how innocent we were but a hundred days ago, give or take a few days.

He is activating the Left way way way more than any other GOP president at this stage. It depends on how 2018 goes.
Democrats have many seats to defend so I am not very hopeful.
You mean that march on Saturday that was attended by millions but with zero plan for follow thru?
There has been follow through. There are action plans sent out calling attention to local/state laws, ways to run for office, bills that are pending, etc. There are plans to call senators and members of congress. In fact, I have been invited to an event pretty much every week for the next month that is some kind of action plan. People are being called to run for office. Fundraisers are happening not only for parties and candidates but also for issues and non profit organizations. Just because you don't seem to be paying attention doesn't mean that folks aren't mobilizing.

Anonymous wrote:Why would the republican congress ever impeach Trump? He is doing exactly what they want him to do right now. He is keeping all of the heat on himself via silly things like the size of the inauguration crowd, while at the same time providing cover for the republicans in congress to do exactly what he wants. Cut off funding for things they don't like, cancel rules and regulations they don't like, appoint conservative cabinet members and soon justices. Trump is the republican congress's wet dream right now. They love him.

In light of his recent actions, delusional belief in voter fraud that even spicer can't manage to say he also believes, and the January 25 interview obsessing about his popularity, starting to think that instead that pence and the cabinet (once confirmed) will invoke the 25th amendment to the constitution, section 4. (Google It). All that requires is that they transmit to the congress written declaration that president is "unable to discharge the duties of his office." as trump becomes more and more unhinged during his public speaking - that will becomes the easiest path and then elected R officials don't have to worry about taking the heat from the trump mob. They regreably just uphold the constitution and "put country before party." In their own humble words they become Heros of the democracy. Well that or trump starts nuclear war with someone and its all over for everyone.
It will get a lot worse before the grown ups step in - but you know people are already drafting their declarations!
This is never, ever going to happen. The Republicans are going to ride this monster to the very end. They are not about leadership. They are not about the country. They are not going to do anything to admit in any way that Trump was a bad president or a bad candidate. They will stick with him and do anything he wants because this is all about power.
Republicans: Party over country. Every single time.
Anonymous wrote:Completely hear you. But the cabinet is not elected - so they have som much more room and don't have to worry about the next election cycle. So if faced with an illegal order to torture, or start a war, they may instead opt for the 25th amendment route. What would be key, would be that they feel personally affronted by trump screaming at them. They are all rich powerful people and can walk. So that is how it might happen. Grow to hate trump, sick of being yelled at, feel lied to, feel langrybthat trump put them in an untenable position. Wake up one day and say to them self. Nope I'm done. Have your own personal fortune and decide don't actually want to go to war with Iran or North Korea or Mexico and so they write up a declaration rather than resign. Decide that ending the world is not actually in their own personal best interest. Again - it will get much worse before that happens but perhaps pride and self preservation might motivate them. It millions are protesting in the streets and trump is raving mad tweeting that will help of course.
Anonymous wrote:in your opinion.... not in the opinion of a majority of americans. his approval rating is at 59%. what exactly do you think the protests have accomplished? Absolutely nothing, except felony arrests, property damage and ridicule. Trump is moving full steam ahead to enact the agenda that he ran on.
