The beauty of the RM catchment area is that there is literally something for everyone. SFH's start at just below $300K in Twinbrook, and go above 1Mil near town square. Everything from tiny ramblers, to old Victorians, to gigantic new builds. So yes, it's a sought after (thus crowded) area. That's not a dealbreaker for me (or many others, it seems).

A lot of families rent the smaller homes around Churchill.

Look at the school maps -- part of silver spring feeds into bethesda schools

Good, PP 13:54- we don't want you in the RM cluster with snobby attitude like that. Feel free to go to Churchill or Whitman with that view. The RM community is great!!

Yes. My four-bedroom 1970s house is only 4000 sq feet, including basement, and has only a 700+ sq ft garage. It's really too small.

What is tiny? I live in RM cluster, and our house is 3400 sqft, including finished basement. This is the average size of the house in our neighborhood.
I grew up in a 1000 sqft house. That was small. I don't think you're very familiar with the RM cluster neighborhoods, maybe just your "friend's" neighborhood?
