From start to finish, I thought each episode was excellent. I loved the bike riding scene with Hannah and her friend (can't remember her name). Great shots of NYC. I think Shosh has finally found her niche - fantastic marketing of Ray's coffee shop to the anti-hipster crowd. I would gladly be a customer if there was a place like this IRL. That hipster Helvetica place was so self-serious - ugh.
I hope Ray wasn't seriously going to carry and fetch things for Marnie on their tour. Let's hope he has more self-respect than that. I do hope they wind up together though. I think he's the perfect antidote to her narcissism.
Jessa and Adam were disturbing in their rage. That was some scene. I wonder if they'll be together next season.
I was so moved by both Elijah and Hannah. We've never seen Elijah be serious and vulnerable and he was both. He made me want to cry when Dill called him "aimless" and said his goodbyes.
Hannah's reading actually did move me to tears. I've found her so incredibly off-putting this season, but her words in that scene were beautiful and showed a side of her we almost never see. Maybe she'll turn herself around by next season and start fresh.
PP, great post. I completely agree that these episodes were out of the ordinary and they touched me too. Very moving.
that's called sock-puppeting

Anonymous wrote:I thought Sunday night's episodes were sublime. Hannah, Elijah, Adam, Hannah's parents - terrific. I do wish that Ray had shot down Marnie, although this was more realistic - I think him carrying her gear was tongue in cheek. Team Shosh!

Really? Had you been drinking? I am not trying to be rude, but while it was entertaining, it was a far reach from being tear-jerking.
Also, did anyone else notice the bookshop was the same one which featured in an episode of The Following ?(Kevin Bacon cancelled series about mass murderers).
Nope, not drinking.I thought it was funny but also poignant. She has a great way of wording things and it touched me to hear how, more than being jealous of Adam and Jessa, she just missed them both.

This episode made me so uncomfortable especially the BJ scene with Ray. I mean, how screwed up is she to 1) so poorly read the signs in her interactions with Ray 2) feel like the only way she can show her appreciation to Ray is to give him BJ. WTF?! I'm so glad Fran got away...he did a great job in the episode.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I basically agree about last night's episode although the one exception was Adam - I have always found him really endearing despite his weirdness and he was the one character last night who was doing for others rather than himself (well, I guess Ray did, too, but he annoys me).
ITA about Adam. He has really risen to the occasion with baby Sample (LOL!). I loved when Jessa was freaking out about the spit up, insisting he come and help her, and he said something like, "You're an adult. She's a baby. Why do you need more help than a baby?" So, so true.
Shoshanna is incredibly annoying, and always has been, IMO. She never makes any sense, just constant diarrhea of the mouth. What her ex said to her about growing the hell up was also very true. The men (except for Desi, of course) seem to be maturing a lot faster than the "women" in this show.
I love Fran. That whole scene with Hannah and Fran yelling at each other was outrageous - I can't believe Fran didn't run far, far away from Hannah a long time ago. She is appalling.
