As a matter of fact, from what I understand, Eddies salary was a little more than half of our current TD. Yes, he did have a few of the trainers under his company, (which I might add, was a VYS decsion, "for tax purposes" as a matter of fact some under his umbrella were placed there at the request of the BOD president of the week at that time.
BOD president of the week? VYS had the same president from at least 2010 to 2014, right
I'm more than a little skeptical of that salary info.
Ask your BOD... I can tell you that when Eddie came on board, his salary was approximately 65% of the current TD's. If they refuse to share this info with their members, there lies your answer. It's a shame that this misinformation has been put out there. It makes Eddie appear greedy which couldnt be farther from the truth. I can honestly say that when I sat on the board, he was frequently helping VYS beyond his obligation to our club.... from giving of his own time to provide oversight/programs (Friday night lights, for one) to showing up over an hour early to set up by himself, to bringing in his company's trainers for some programs in at HIS expense for the kids. The BOD knows this but has chosen not to share these things. He took alot of pride in the club and worked very hard to build our programs. That handful of parents, for reasons I can not understand, did not like Eddie and made a point to squeeze him out. While we are discussing false accusations agains Eddie... I can add that this group went as far as to create a crazy "anonymous survey" where they said terrible things about Eddie and even accused him of criminal activity! I would have assumed that if this were a legitamate accusation, as a club, we would have been obligated to involve law inforcement. It went from this group to the president that in turn forwarded it to committees. She knew there was no substance to this or it would have been addressed, but she chose to forward it. this was all in the plan to hurt Eddie and his reputation. I was truly appalled at the things that I learned about board members and believe it is time that they were called out on it. Eddie has moved on but still people find it necessary to continue to slander him. Lets move on. I am not sure what the obsession is.
Highest paid TD in Virginia or Maryland outside of Loudoun/Bethesda, with tons of perks. Well over six figures. Large performance bonus.
I have also heard that new PM makes nearly as much as most TDs, which is why left Spirit. VYS now paying more than professional clubs for staff.

I was on the BOD at the time Eddie came on board. His salary was approx 60% of the current TD's. I would ask the board to verify this info. If they won't, there is your answer. I can tell you this with complete certainty. He was not asking for anything unrealistic. That is completely false!
Will you verify that Eddie's deal allowed him to keep running ITS and get a cut of the salary of every coach he hired from ITS?
Will you verify that is a huge conflict of interest?
Will you verify that the VP-Travel at that time (probably you) allowed Eddie to do whatever he wanted with no oversight?

Crickets??!!

yeah, I noticed!
Anonymous wrote:exactly!!!! isn't that what we hired a TD for?? to take his expertise in his field with the influence he had/connections in the area and make the right decisions for our club to create an atmosphere that would provide our kids with a strong sense of community and friendship. That certainly isn't happening in our current club. Lets face it 99.9% of our kids are NOT going to be Neimeyer! That group fought Lima the majority of the time that he worked for us on every idea, program AND fields for his programs! (then again that was a fight we all endured!). As a AGC I saw the crazy obstacles the club made for him and I dont know how he stayed as long as he did! The guy had a vision.. The spoiled few decided they didn't like him, they believed that we weren't evolving into this elite club that they were delusional in thinking their kids were deserving of... when all their kids probably really wanted was what Lima was trying to give them. He took his job very seriously. he was available to all of our members. I would bet that there was not one email that he did not acknowledge. It may have not been the answer that you hoped for but, he let you know that he heard you and respected your thoughts. We lost that opportunity and we need to move forward. was it a mistake? yes. was the money our club put into our old TD well spent?! YES. It was apparent that he had to be dedicated to what he did to continue to take the abuse from those few that gave him such a hard time. That shows great character. No one on our current board has the ability to do what needs to be done. Unfortunately, the bod has turned off the majority of the families so those that could help us have left or do not want to attempt to fix what they have destroyed. It is easier to pick up and move to a club that is better established and allow their kids to participate with their friends the way they used to ..... bc most of their friends are already out of VYS and calling them to join them.
I believe that these people probably manipulated the situation with the old TD and yes it is starting to seem that things were a bit political and shady. But I also believe that they believed that this was what would be best for the club. The only problem was, they never asked us.
here here!! there is your motive. all that is so true! I have seen Eddie on the field. He looks great and much more relaxed good for him!!! and his teams are doing GREAT!!

Anonymous wrote:Wow you invested a great deal of time on that investigative piece. However if that great board would have continued the same rediculous restrictions that they put on the prior tech team, they wouldnt have to talk that new TD into reinstating programs. The hoops they made them jump thru were rediculous! How it was so successful speaks volumes for them bc that board did not make it easy! Had the board not tried to fix what wasnt broken, if they had not tried so hard to set them up for failure ( which it seems backfired).... then their karma wouldnt have had to take over and a pretty good number of our kids wouldnt be paying the price for their egos. Even if they felt a legit. need to restructure, good Lord, dont you think it would have been beneficial to establish a common philosophy and gameplan prior to our club paying for this individual to come from a different country?! They WASTED alot of OUR $$$ to pay for this ineffective individual. And speaking of wasting money, that prez that you made point that wasnt the "prez of the week" she should be reimbursing our club the 10,000 she threw away with that NSCAA report that she tried so hard to manipulate. That was a disgrace! and when she couldnt, she and that handful of egos chose to pick and choosed the recommendations that fell in line with their agenda. And while we are on margaret, why is she even on the board? At large or otherwise. She has no children in the club. Others were kick out bc they no longer had kids in the club. Had they been in line with this group, they would have most likely been welcomed. If I am wrong regarding any of this, please prove me wrong. Otherwise, start being on the up and up! our most important thing in life is our children, these unethical, juvenile individuals need to grow up and step down... but most important, they owe ALOT of people an apology. Yes I am angry. Many of us are!
