1. That's better than overpaying for natural stone cause its just an overpriced rock.

I can tell how big someone's stone is and if the clarity is worse than like GIA SI1 and get a good guess on the color if we're just having coffee together. Don't need to like have a convo about it.

Mine is .75 but almost flawless quality. DH offered to upgrade at 5 years but I opted for an eternity pave diamond ban instead. I don't want/need a huge rock! I've only noticed when my friends' have massive rings (some do), but I can't imagine the quality is great since I'm sort of familiar with their HHI.

When I was married my ring was .71 center stone with two small round stones and a baguette on either side. It was pretty. I was younger and while I loved my husband, I wasn't really madly in love with him. The size and appearance of the run was pretty important to me then (even though by many of your standards on this board, the ring was small). Now I'm divorced and I've been seeing someone for two years that I STILL am madly in love with and the ring size, and pomp and circumstance of a fancy wedding are much, much less important to me. I can honestly say, in that cheesy manner, that when we get engaged and married all that really matters to me is that he becomes my husband. My priorities have just changed. I now have the opinion that if your significant other is truly the one for you, your soul mate, then that relationship trumps any material thing. I would much rather have the best relationship among my peers than the best ring.

yeah that struck me as very odd. I asked around and I was actually told by a couple other people that they agreed with her. I personally don't understand. They said it is about each generation doing better than the next... personally it just sounds like more girl rivalry stuff.
