The 90 runs right past Thurgood Marshall and Ketchum is just a couple of blocks east of the bus route. Geographically there are definitely schools that could be a match.

Unless you are referring to the neighborhoods not being a match. Maybe not so bad as you head toward Thurgood Marshall but as you head toward Ketchum, every other business you see is either a liquor store or check cashing joint, and practically every other window is either boarded up or covered with bars. Not exactly a friendly neighborhood, even for the locals.

I assume you're referencing some amorphous area in Ward 8 that is located East of the River, as opposed to the actual historic neighborhood of Anacostia, which has its own Metrorail station? BTW, there is no shortage of young, white TFA recruits working in Ward 8 schools. There's also the lovely Anacostia Park and Pirate Playground. Good story though.

Oh the humanity. I can't begin to imagine riding on the 90 bus through the heart of Capitol Hill, the very epicenter of liberalism and black activism. God forbid she ever set foot on the X2. Nonetheless I'm sure she felt much better when the police greeted her. I have one nagging question. Your description doesn't seem to fit with any actual school. I used to mentor at the Thurgood Marshall Academy and that doesn't seem to match. Neither do Orr, Savoy or Ketchum, or Kraemer or Anacostia High for that matter. DC Prep didn't open until this year so I find myself at a total loss here.
