I don't care if it's against DC regulations. I'm going to do it anyway. (Believe me, the city is not sending people out to catch dogowners who put poop in the public trash cans.) Just be glad that I don't put it in my neighbors' cans. Seriously, I don't get the white hot anger about this. I find it annoying when people dump bags of poop in my can without putting it in the larger garbage bag but it is seriously not worth all the rage expressed on this thread.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Well, the truth is I don't know whether or not anyone does that now -- because the bag would be hidden away in my own garbage bag. I usually put my dog's poop bags in a public trash can (which by the way is also against DC regulations) but if the dog poops on the way home I will put the poop bag inside an existing garbage bag in my own can. And, like I said, I'd be fine if other dog walkers did that. But I'm not enough of an expert on the ethics of dogwalkers to be able to speculate as to whether the distributive poopbaggers are too lazy to make this adjustment.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Pp again - I should add that it just annoys me when people put poop in my can but I don't get white hot angry about it -- which it seems like some of the pps do. Do you honestly think that someone lazy and inconsiderate enough to put poop in your can is going to open up an existing bag and tie it back up? Dream on!
You know that's against the law, but you do it anyway?Carry your dog shit home.

Carry your dog shit home. Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Just a specific question based off the stupid dog hating thread.
I am a dog owner who picks up after my dogs and who does not put the bags in your trash can because I've seen enough complaints about people who hate it but I genuinely don't understand WHY people hate it. Its your outdoor trash can. I never even look in my outdoor trashcan, certainly not closely enough to have noticed a rogue dog poop bag.
Genuinely curious because I feel like the people who DO do this are actually trying to be conscientious dog owners but people seem to get SUPER bent about it.
The garbage men do not dump the cans. They reach in and take what they want to take. They NEVER take the poop. YOUR poop. Which you have just made MY poop. Forever.
