You child got in to both STA and NCS - that really is amazing.

If it will make anyone feel better, our child chose GDS over the other Big 3 schools for Upper School. It is, like Sidwell and NCS/STA, an exceptional high school.

I think there are some people who are intentionally trying to stir up a fight between parents at the two schools. Sort of like the old schoolyard troublemaker ...

I'm the alleged hater sock puppet troll pp refers to. I don't hate GDS in the least. That doesn't mean that I don't agree with others that is a defensiveness to the way people write about it.

This whole Sidwell vs GDS argument seems silly because they're both tremendous schools.

I don't know about you all, but I find these X vs Y discussions frustrating. It's that time of year and I understand that it's a huge decision for young parents, but these threads bring out the crazies!! The discussion inevitably results in messed up mud slinging by angry uninformed people with way too much time on their hands. I suspect that most of the savvy parents from the best schools (public or private) in DC would never regularly post on dcum.
