Only American Muslims who are influenced by liberal media here are supportive of gays. Most Muslims in the US and the overwhelming majority would never accept gays.

The OP has decided to interpret Islam In her own individual way. Her interpretation is not the norm at all. She thinks the absence of clear prohibition= permission. This is not always true. Clear guidelines were given for men and permitted men the liberty to marry people of the book. The guidelines were expressly delineated because God wanted to be clear in granting men this extra liberty. To assume the same for women in the absence of a similar directive is just fishing.

If Muslims can accept gays why can't they accept a Muslim-Christian couple?

Yes, many people are hypocritical in their ways. I agree. Many do so unknowingly, which is probably the case with the OP. I wanted to point out the hypocrisy in case it has escaped the OP. Because to live in the knowledge of one's own hypocrisy is to live in a lie or be deceptive to others. I always assume the best of people so I would choose the former. Given that, it's important for people to know when they are living in a lie.

There are some religions and belief systems that accepts different ways of worship. Christianity and Islam, and the denominations thereof, are not among these.

To belief that Jesus is the Son of God is not a "fundamentalist" view. It's the foundation of Christianity. Without Jesus, without Original Sin, it is no longer Christianity. A Christian cannot be wishy washy about Jesus, who he was/is/will-be.

Tell that to John Shelby Spong, John Dominic Crossan, and so many others. Many Christian doctrines were established in the first few centuries AD but that doesn't mean that all Christians have to believe that early doctrine to the letter, down to every dotted i and crossed T.

I wish atheists and non-Christians would stop opining on what Christians are supposed to "believe." You don't get to tell us what we should believe.

Assalamu alaykum i am a Muslim sisterly advice to you, i don't know how you were raise up as a muslim woman but we both know and acknowledge that MUSLIM WOMAN ARE NOT allowed to marry Non-Muslim man that is clearly mention in the Qu'ran and Sunnah (prophetic saying) of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. If we woman are not allowed to marry non-muslim man let alone to have kids. Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi rajaoun (To Him we belong to Him we shall return). I think you should go visit your nearby local masajid for this issue i am wondering if you were married in the church or in your local municipal court because imam at the masajid usually advises the sisters who wants to get married to a non-muslim man.
