DC Coast is consistently very good. I have also always had a good experience at Brasserie Beck.

Thai Farm is fantastic. Where is sushi Damo? Falls Grove? My favorite sushi place closed in Kentlands and I'm looking for a replacement. I also like Raku in Bethesda but that's a bit far without advance planning.


Sushi Damo is in Rockville Town Square. Another good place closer to Kentlands is Sushi Oishii near Cava in Shady Grove. While those are good, Yuraku is the best for sushi in the area in my opinion.

Donburi in Adams Morgan - very good rice bowls.
Sakuramen in Adams Morgan is also pretty good.
DGS Deli in Dupont - upscale Jewish deli food, not too $$$.
Duke's Grocery in Dupont - British fry-up.
2 Amys for the thin-crust pizza.

They have their own restaurant group and several other restaurants. So yes, I would classify them as corporate-owned,on a smaller scale.


That is NOT the connotation of corporate. Corporate in foodie lingo means national chain, often franchised.


Who cares? Corporate or not, I don't consider it a great restaurant.


But as your list demonstrates, you know nothing about good food. So there's that.

Pho 14 and Pho Viet in Columbia Heights. Pho 14 has great banh mi's and Pho Viet's pho is phenomenal (really, pho at both places is very good).

Lia's in Chevy Chase or Chef Geoff's by AU but only for the burgers and super mugs of beer at happy hour.

Cactus Cantina in Cathedral Heights. Their steak fajitas are great.
