We all choose our own faith and actions as God gave us free will. I don't know what hell or heaven is like but given the choice, I'll take door #1. Science does a poor job of explaining concepts like heaven/hell just like the Bible is not a scientific reference document. I'll get my science from the scientists (with its inherent limitations) and my faith from my belief that this world (what we see, feel and hear) is not all there is. Signed - Bible Belt PhD.
Science does not attempt to "explain" the supernatural - e.g. heaven, hell, fairies, various gods that humans have invented in their imaginations and in written about and in some cases formed religions around. Science deals with what is real -- not with the endless multitude of things that people can imagine about their world. It's like science trying to explain the ghosts that some people think are under their beds. Science can investigate how the brain works and what makes people believe in ghosts or think they saw a ghost, but scientists ultimately can't confirm the ghosts scientifically, because they are imaginary.
Ghost Busters was very scientific!

Evil?
People are born good.
Not Christians -- they are born with the stain of original sin
