But you just did! Go ahead, say whatever you wanted to say - a forum is about the exchange of ideas, not just about agreeing with people or affirming their beliefs. If what you mean by "better venues" is "places where people agree with you" - you're right -- go to church for that.

Your thread is about whether it's possible for Heaven to be in clumps of dark matter and if the discovery of dark matter and/or multiverse hypotheses and/or Brane hypotheses and/or other aspects of string theory open up the possibility that Heaven is located either in this Universe and is detectable via the gravitational effects of dark matter or is in one of the other "spaces" that are implicit if those other theories are correct.
It appears, though, that unless someone is willing you say, "Wow. That's so cool. You might be right Heaven might be in dark matter!" that constitutes sabotaging the discussion to you.
If you want to use science to validate your religious beliefs, then you should learn a lot more about the science you're trying to use. But if you really need science to validate your faith, then I'd say you've got issues with your faith.

On the contrary, most atheists today were believers at one time, because like most people, they were taught by their parents to believe. That is changing, as more parents don't indoctrinate their children, but right now atheists are likely to know more about religion than religious people because atheists are at one time religious, and thought about religion and studied it before rejecting it. Atheists today have a much clearer understanding of religion than people who have always been religious. They've seen both sides and went with what made most sense to them based on the evidence.
A. Would Jesus approve of calling atheists "assholes?"
B. Right, - it's likely that there will always be people who choose to believe unbelievable things, despite science. Hopefully, as time goes on, they will be in the minority.

Meh. The moderator could care less about Christianity or Judaism being mocked. As I said, find other fora to discuss your questions about religion.

No reason for angry posts. The OP posited that Heaven is located in dark matter, and a follow-up poster (possibly the OP) said that it was a "glorious moment" when science "validates" what believers have known all along.
Most of the contrary posts in this thread have been pointing out the flaws in that hypothesis, while you seem to believe that anyone who disagrees with the initial theory are disrupting the thread. I think most (if not all) readers would disagree with your characterization.
Religion has typically been an explanation for things people can't explain, and then science has come along and explained those things without the need for any supernatural involvement.
It remains possible that the universe had a "creator," that we have "souls" and that there is some kind of afterlife. I can't prove there isn't, but there's no affirmative evidence that there is. Science rarely, if ever, "validates" belief in the supernatural.

And, yet, you admitted to not reading FruminousBandersnatch's post explaining why science would make it difficult for your hypothesis about Heaven being out in the dark matter to be correct. So your "glorious moment" is just you looking at a scientific result that you don't actually understand and saying, "Wow. This might validate my faith!" And when people who actually understand the science (and seem to have a better grasp of theology) weigh in, you get pissy and say they're disrupting the conversation.

If so, then believers have had precious few glorious moments - no validation is possible for any of the miracles (virgin birth, resurrection, etc) because things that are outside of nature can't be affirmed via the scientific method.
