FWIW this is my Janney Story (I have a kid in K.) I never got the summer mailing and went to the office to investigate. They had my address completely wrong - wrong number and wrong street (not even like Albemarle/Alton - totally different street names). I asked the woman if my form was hard to read so she pulled it out and it was very neat penmanship. It was just a straight up error. I have since corrected it.

Anyways, if I hadn't I am sure someone might have thought something was fishy, especially if they were a close neighbor to the wrong address.

Now, would I care if someone challenged my residency status? NO - because it would take me about 5 minutes to get together my documents to prove that I am IB.

OP - report them. If nothing is wrong it's hardly an inconvenience to prove it. If they are cheating, then that is that.

What's your deal, lady. A person doesn't have to know the answer to all of these questions. The OP recognized that one of the published "facts" about the family is incorrect. The responsible thing to do is to alert the city of a potential problem. It is then up to the city to check the errant fact and figure out if it is fraud or if it is a mistake or if there is a special circumstance. It is absolutely unreasonable to say that you should do nothing unless you can prove fraud. That is not the job of the individual. Individuals are supposed to report when they know that a certain fact is wrong. That is how the system is designed to work.

I think the person you're responding to is afraid she'll be exposed for cheating and is trying to discourage OP from reporting it.

This. Report and move on. If it's all good, no harm, foul. I'm legitimately enrolled at a HRCS. If someone called to say I was reported I'd say come on over to my house and have a look, or give them a copy of whatever proof they needed. Done. We live in a city with very limited resources where people have to be vultures to make sure their kid isn't cheated. I get it. Investigate me. Big deal in light of the circumstances. Remember people, honest people have nothing to hide. Also, after enough cheaters get called out, they'll stop. Something has to get this going.

Not too long ago, I would have been similarly shocked at the number of criminal sympathizers in our supposedly civil society...but then I began reading DCUM; it's enlightening. Thanks to Jeff, I recently cast my first vote for a Republican (not that he would approve); but I truly am grateful to this site for having ripped the veil of ignorance from my eyes.

Your federal Tax Return is not accepted as a residency verification document (they do accept Form D-40, but you can use other documentation). Neither is your mortgage or HUD stuff acceptable - the only real estate document you can use is a lease.

Believe me, we're not gonna know who the 4 year old is and even if we did, there may be a lot of a-holes on here, but I can't think on one "person" I've encountered on here who would do harm to an innocent 4 year old.
