Better than VaTech, certainly. But not better than UVA. And the point is that CA's overall system is the best. MI does not have a UCLA. It has Michigan State.

The South generally have inferior secondary schools and colleges. Almost all of the top high schools and top colleges are located on the East Coast/West Coast with few in the Midwest. UVA is maintaining its decent ranking because of its connection to Mr. Jefferson and all the TJ/Maggie Walker kids enrolling at the school every year. It will just be another public school without those with possible exception of the business school/law school.
