Even if they went to siblings (which seems unlikely in grades over PK3), they would have been offered by lottery. Even the Pk3 spots that went to siblings were offered by lottery. So it seems like they are keeping their options open as to whether to increase non-PK3 classes over their current capacity, if in fact there were no spaces open at all in those grades. (Just because they were approved by PCSB does not mean they have to offer them.)
I'm a current CM parent and I don't believe the characterization above is entirely correct. They sought and received PCSB approval for up to 17 children per classroom per year -- not 2 above the current number. My child's PK class has 16 students, so, at best, we're talking about an additional space next year unless a family doesn't return.
I agree that just b/c they were approved for up to 17 per class doesn't mean they will offer them. I'm not sure how the administration will make that decision (since it's an inclusion school, I can imagine it could be somewhat more complicated than we'd expect, although I don't know for certain).
