Individual differences are greater than average differences. Having more testosterone in the body while it was growing might increase lung capacity, but there are men with small(er) amounts of testosterone and women with great(er) amounts of testosterone. I don't think we're at the point where we're going to do workups on every athlete and throw out some because they have an unfair advantage. That basketball player is too tall, that football player is too fast, that volleyball player is too strong, please!

I don't really see a time coming when transgender women competing in sports are getting in the way of all women excelling in sports.


Not PP, but isn't the issue unfair advantage relative to the field that comes from more than just luck. A person being born tall is born tall. A person born a man rather than a woman - is that more like being born tall or more like taking steroids from a physical perspective? Interesting question, but not a slam dunk to me either way.

Renee Richards, formerly Richard Raskin, was a famous tennis player who challenged the rule that the women must be born women to play in the U.S. Open. Prior to the transition, Richard was on the football team and even scouted by the NY Yankees!

No, it doesn't. It means that he is uncomfortable in his male body and believe that he should have been born a female. That is all it means. He can still be gay, straight, or bisexual regardless. He is gay if he transitions to female and likes women. He is straight if he transitions to female and likes men.

I think this is true for the spouse who didn't know in other similar situations. He probably thought marriage would take his mind off of his desire to be a woman. For Kris, with her big ego and the K family rep for selling sex, it must be a big blow to her.

I got that, pp. And I'm glad he's able to do this or whatever else to make himself happy. But I feel bad for his family. I'm sure it will be much easier for his kids, step kids and previous wives, but I feel bad for Kris. She obviously didn't know about this when she met him, and by the end of their 23 year marriage they were sleeping in separate rooms (saw that on KUWTK). I know the PC thing to do is applaud his decision to make himself happy, but I can't help feeling sorry for stupid Kris.

Gender identity and sexual orientation are completely different things.

And yes, regardless of either, people often find love and companionship.
