Now back to the OP's question. I recommend: Takoma Park, Silver Spring, Bethesda, Crestwood, Chevy Chase MD or CCDC, and Adams Morgan. Also, Columbia, MD (in Howard County) is very diverse.

I don't think Anne Arundel County in general, and Severna Park in particular, are especially gay friendly, though.
