Strange!!!
I like that you used a fictional show to make a point. But even then, the characters on the show weren't desperate either. The main character turned down a great guy for marriage when she was over 35, left a wealthy/famous painter in Paris when he didn't treat her right. Samantha left her young, hot actor BF in the end because she's not the relationship type. Miranda dumped a hot NY knicks physician for her ex-bartender BF. Charlotte left her marriage to a hot, wealthy doctor because of their sex life and her desire to have kids.
What's even more bizarre to me is there are men complaining on DCUM no less about women. Are we to believe single men posting on DCUM have tons of options on Saturday nights? Come on. Why does it bother you so much that some of us have options and don't have to settle? Desirable men don't have to wonder about this because they have their lot to choose from.

30yo woman. Prefer to date 27-34, someone I could've attended HS with. I date older sometimes, but I prefer guys who wanted to settle down sooner in life. Single women 35+ usually are because there are so many men their ages who are still exhibiting frat boy like behavior and sleeping around, not the other way around. I'd rather the guy who was commitment minded alot sooner in life. I've primarily attracted younger men the past few years, particularly 2-3 years younger and I wish I'd been more open-minded sooner. I still date men ages 35-38, but I'd rather a divorced guy in that category. Someone who is just starting to think about settling down at that age is usually incompatible for me. Most of the married guys I know that I consider good guys closed the deal in their 20s and early 30s. I'm sure there are older guys who are fine too, but I usually find myself thinking "Yeah, no wonder he is still single" after dates with older, never married guys.
I don't doubt you're having few problems finding dates. There's a lid for every pot.

Exactly. I'm 30 and I wouldn't give a 45 year old the time of day. I find plenty of men in their 30s (and late 20s) to date, why would I want to date someone that much older? I would make an exception for someone who was a great match with me, but women are not so desperate that they have to date men that much older. This goes for all of my 30 year old friends.
You and all of your 30 year old friends are single, at 30. Your risk of having a downie starts increasing now. Good luck.
But have a child with a man advancing towards 35 also presents the same increasing risks. Much worse if he's older than that age.
