What about Buchmann? She was the head of the Tea Party. She is not running again as a direct result of the IRS targeting the Tea Party. She is under some kind of investigation.
Do you just make this stuff up, or do you get it straight from talk radio?
Bachmann is under investigation by the House ethics committee, as well as possibly the FBI, the FEC and the Iowa Senate Ethics Committee (for allegedly making secret payment to a state senator in an effort to win the Iowa caucuses).
Are you going to suggest that all of those bodies are simply targeting the Tea Party?
Yes it the government going after Tea Partiers. It's Obama and Nancy attacking their enemies with the powers of government. I hope congress has hearing on this.

Clearly, the IRS has employees who don't want to limit tax revenue--or their salaries.

I don't understand why an apology would be made by the IRS if there was no wrong-doing on their part.
Political Correctness. They profiled. Even if it made sense to examine these groups it is politically incorrect to target them.
Did you see what you wrote? And you don't see the issue?
Of course I see the problem with profiling. But these groups should by and large not be 501 c 4's, and therefore there is not much harm done. They weren't denied something that they were due.
There was a TON of harm done! You have found out your government approves of this type of behavior and that should scare the hell out of you.
No, what scares me is black and hispanic people getting pulled over and sometimes detained for the color of their skin. A minor delay in filing for non-tax status does not scare the hell out of me. Any of these groups could have filed 527's, which is what they absolutely should have done.
Get some freaking perspective.

If I were in a situation where I might say something that could inadvertantly incriminate me, I would take the 5th too. Then again, my father was a criminal defense lawyer who would never give any quarter to the prosecution.
