There is a school and playground right on Mt. Vernon. Kid's swarm around the Dairy Godmother. And the area isn't that big. I can't even run down that portion of Mt. Vernon because it is covered in kid and strollers.

But maybe the fact that there are so many people dining with kids in that area make it a good fit? For when parents want to really get away from the kids (any kids) for a bit?

Im in! What date are we going to do this?
YEAH, you show 'em! How dare adults want to congregate for a meal without screaming babies and toddlers in attendance! It's an OUTRAGE.
Then stay home and eat in the peace and quiet of your own home! If you cant deal with the public and all that going out in public entails that's your own personal problem.
If you can't deal with a single restaurant existing that you can't bring your little kid to, you need therapy.
Seriously. If 1 out of thousands and thousands of restaurants chooses to be kid free, and you're angry about it, you're just a petty, spiteful, sad person in need of some mental rewiring.
What is wrong with you previous two pp's? Why are you being so judgmental? Talking about ppl needing therapy and ppl being 'sad.' What on earth?
If you want to control your environment then stay home. Its a simple concept.
Relax. It's not like anyone creating kid-free cities and states that you're not allowed to go to. IT'S ONE RESTAURANT. All the restaurants of the world do not owe you, or your child, any acknowledgement. You think complaining about one restaurant being kid free isn't judgmental? Can you say that while looking at yourself in the mirror? If YOU want to control your environment, how about YOU stay home? You can have all the meals with your special kids you want - knock yourself out.
Why are you screaming?
Why are you so upset about one kid-free restaurant?
I think you're confused. Nothing in my bolded posts above implies that I'm "so upset." I was simply offering solutions to the prior posters who have problems with kids eating at this sushi restaurant.
