Well it's been quite a while now just an update... I had my third set of twins A day apart last year. One of each. I believe they are my miracles. My boy was born first 2 lbs 5 oz 16 1/2" at 11:56 pm. My girl was born 2 lbs 1oz 15 3/4" at 12:01am the next day. My older twins say they are so lucky in that the get their own birthdays.
One year has come and gone and I wouldn't trade one minute! The first month was the pits though. I went ahead and got a hysterectomy
My husband and Doctor agreed that would be the safest and only sure way to prevent any more children.
Although we won't be retiring in 5years like we had planned, we are so deeply and truely in love with our 6 kids!

It's actually a lot more common than 1 in 50 billion for a vasectomy to be unsuccessful. It is 1 in 4,000. My husband had it happen. The vas deferens can grow back together.

OK so I guess my body was just messing with me...I started my period today! Have never been so happy to feel cramps For a moment I was getting gooey over the idea of a miracle baby...but I will totally settle for snuggling the babies my friends and family have on the way. They will appreciate the break and I will love the feeling of holding a baby again! Best to all on this thread!

Not gonna lie, this thread has completely freaked me out...Op, so happy you have a beautiful bundle but I just finished my son's last overnight pull up and celebrated like I won the lottery. I have two beautiful children and am completely content. My hubby had is vs done 2 months after my son was born, so almost 3 years ago. He never went in for a follow up, even though I have hounded him. I am about a week late. Fingers crossed it is just stress b/c I am 33 and so ready to be done. -mc

Found this when researching pregnancy rates after vasectomy..my husband had one about 6 years ago. I'm a week late and usually you can set a clock to my cycles. I'm having pregnancy symptoms as well, but still thinking its pms and I'm late for the first time in my life other than when I had my daughter almost 10 years ago.

After doing a LOT of reading, seems pregnancy after V is more common than my hubby's doctor led us to believe...

Husband had vasectomy 1 1/2 ago. I am currently 3 days late. Have been having pregnancy symtoms for 2-3 weeks (lower back aches, cramping, nausea) non of which I usually experience before cycle. Home pregnancy tests are coming back negative. Not sure what is going on.

I found this site cause i"m doing a little research on pregnancies after vasectomies, trying to find out if there is a connection between vasectomies and twins. I read this post like a soap opera; even had tears in my eyes when OP found out she's pregnant! Wow, such amazing stories. PPl need to understand how important it is to get a follow up check up. Good luck to all of you; now, I'm on my way to have a little talk with hubby to make sure he sees his doctor soon ...

OP here... My surprise baby is now 14 months old (today!) and hell on wheels!! My little hurricane. She is something else.

Just reading the original OP's story. How wonderful that you were able to welcome and thoroughly enjoy your surprise baby, OP!

DH and I were 41 when our baby was conceived and we joke that it must have been an extraordinary set of gametes to break through the barriers we put in the way, in addition to our age. He's a delightful toddler now. Hope you got some similarly super-awesome sperm and enjoy every minute of this baby. I wish we could have another, too, but I'm just too damn tired.
