I read a ton so I'd probably want to immerse myself in a book. Unless that is you're trying to work from the semi-bed rest. Sepilove, I'd be glad to babysit your piano for you while you make room for baby.

Just kidding, but we're actually looking for a piano at some point. Maybe you can share some tips on good pianos for a small space? My husband and I are both musicians in our spare time.
As for a baby in a one bedroom - we have a small house (though not a one bedroom) and never felt claustrophobic with just a newborn. (When theyre older and the toys explode? Oh yeah). But newborns are tiny and you really don't need to buy All The Stuff.

You can borrow things, and really pare down the list of things you need to the list of things you ACTUALLY will need. mean, everyone is different, but we bought stuff like the baby tub, a kneeling pad for that tub, etc, and now I think it was crazy since we mostly used the sink, like parents did before plastic made us all think we needed so much stuff. (I'd be sad if someone thought I was judging people who bought All-The-Stuff, which isn't true since we actually were kind of those people as well, so no judgment! Just saying a lot of it is not necessary). Anyway, you can do it!
Peanut, welcome! It is nice to have a new mom in the group. I think of everyone you may be the closest to me. I'm 8 weeks as of tomorrow, picking up the end of the thread at Oct 31. OH, the smell of food on people's clothing KILLS ME!!!! I cracked up that only Korean food and steak smells make you sick. That's very specific!

I think a lot of people perk up toward 9 weeks so don't stress. I personally worried throughout most of my first pregnancy but I found that the constant fear was greatly reduced for me around the point where we heard the heartbeat on the doppler. I'd always heard that once you hear it, the m/c risks go down substantially, and I hung onto that. Fears percolated back up in time for certain things (20 week scan for instance, week before it i obsessed that they'd find something wrong, etc). This pregnancy I'm less anxious so far.
Hope everyone is feeling as okay as possible. My nausea was insane last night. I got up four times to dry heave. No actual barfing. Seemed like just standing over the toilet with the option was enough to calm my stomach. Today I had grilled cheese and tomato soup. Anyone else having this issue: certain foods turn you off, but you manage to eat something that appeals, and then immediate after eating it, the after taste makes you sick? I feel like I can't brush the taste of stuff out of my mouth, it's lingering and making me ill. That seems random, though. Maybe it's just me!
