Still, he would've had to go through the checks that both CT and the feds require regardless of if he purchased locally or online. Online dealers are not exempt from the same transfer requirements as local dealers.

It involves an FBI records check. If you google NICS it should have more about it. (Not trying to give a non-answer, just want the information to be accurate)

Why would an American want to "further discourage gun totin'"? The fact that the school was a "gun free zone", aka "criminal protection zone", probably added to the number of victims. Where I live, we all carry and crime is extremely low. Cowards like that shooter almost always choose soft targets as victims.

2:30 Study gun culture. Military grade weapons are a very real thing. The NRA and gun manufacturers promote weapons as being the closest thing to a military weapon that a civilian can own. It's not hype or fear mongering by a PP. This is straight from the NRA.

I imagine the mother, if she had lived, would have suffered terribly for the rest of her life. That said, what an odd dismissal of someone's right to live. Maybe she would have wanted to live. Maybe she could have accomplished good things with the rest of her life. Maybe there are people - such as her other son, her friends and relatives - who love her and needed her to live.

Besides her house and financial assets, she probably had life insurance. If the Lanza family has any sense, they will give every dime to the families of the victims.
