I look around my neighborhood friends, and I always worry when I see that the couple isn't really on the wavelength anymore. Like the wife who has become really successful, has killer upper arms and has taken care of herself, and the husband who has just let it go. Those are the couples that are going to have problems and it makes me sad. I just want to take the one aside that is losing their touch and shake them and say hey!----wake up!-----relationships are work! Put down the donuts and start caring for yourself!

On the flip side, how about women who have kids, gain a lot of weight, cut their hair short, and then look like men who don't need to shave?

When he met me I was thin and pretty but I NEVER worked out, had a raging sweet tooth, and never wore make up. He knew all that. That lazy life style was no problem for a cute 23 year old but it doesn't cut it at my age now.
I did not falsely represent myself - maybe it was similar for Holly.

I think he was ego hungry and had a 40 year old hanging on his every word and thinking he was so great at his disposable. Especially while over in Afghanistan/Irag/wherever. I'm sure there was some downtime! It was a matter of being an ego boost and an easy situation that presented itself.
Now the question will be if he has wrecked his marriage or if his wife of 38 years will find it in her heart to stay with him.
The looks of the other woman usually doesn't matter, its the ego boost and the fact that they can.
Let me add a different perspective. I had an affair with a two star general, not saying which service. Our age difference is 15 years. Neither of us had any intention of leaving our spouses for the other. Extramarital relationships are natural.

Okay, Cindy and Halle are truly beautiful women. Elin is fugly. But, if you think blonde and thin makes one automatically beautiful, meh.
It's Kristy Brinkely.
Cindy is Crawford, and, last I heard, he husband hasn't cheated on her. Yet.

Of course a man was going to find it hard to resist a younger, fitter woman. Naturally, it speaks to Petraeus' character he could NOT resist the younger woman, but ALL men whose wives looked like Holly P would be tempted. Be real with yourselves. They might have too much honor to stray, but they WOULD be tempted if an actual chance to act popped up.
