In my hometown, a Krystal got shut down BY Krystal Corporation because they got so many complaints from people who would go to Krystal well before closing and be told the store was closed. The managers and employees were shutting the store down whenever they wanted, then sitting around until actual closing time, and going home. In college, I worked at a Chick-fil-A for 3 years. Our closing time was 10 pm. We started breakdown around 9:30 because it usually slowed down then. We still had food to serve, of course, but we'd stop dropping tons of fresh food as if it were noon. Sometimes someone would come through the drive thru at 9:59 and you'd have to take their order, and if they wanted fresh food, make it for them. And sometimes (and these times really sucked) some sports team in a school bus would pull up at 9:55 and come inside and order a ton of food. We'd have to cook everything, then clean it all back up, then wait til they were done eating, then go through and reclean the dining room. Awful. But we were absolutely expected to do it and the manager who didn't would have 100% been fired, no question. If customers came in at 9:59, we served them, cleaned up as usual, and clocked out when it was all done.

I WANT MY SUBWAY SANDWICH NOW!!!!!!

Seriously OP, you need to go to yoga - take some "me" time or a valium. It's just a sandwich, no need to scare some teenage girls because you must have your fast food fix.

Life will be ok if you don't get a snack right now.

Only on DCUM is there so much drama involving fast food. We have the Chipotle Stinky Eye, the Starbucks Cookie Crumbler, and now the Subway Situation. Not to mention umpteem toddlers running around restaurants, breastfeeding at restaurant tables and in cake stores, diaper changing on restaurant floors, and so much more!

"The two girls behind the counter looked at me and shook their heads no. I banged again and pointed at my watch."

The door was locked, and then the girls shook their heads no.... Time to move on. The man who came up behind you should have done the same after you told him the story.

Thanks for the laugh. lol I'll give you the obnoxious comment though. Maybe I was obnoxious in insisitng they let me in. I dont think I was but I posed the question "was I wrong" because I am absolutley open to the possibility that I was. Thus, I wanted other people's opinion.

No I wasnt going to DIE without subway but I was pretty desparate. My son has training sessions that are 50 minutes from my house. The sessions are from 7:30 to 10pm. Usually I pack a dinner that he can eat on the way home since we dont get back home until 10pm. I was rushing and didnt have time yesterday so I decided to stop at subway since it's close to where he trains. So yeah, I was pretty desparate to get that subway sanchwich. We do not eat meat so other fast food places arent an option.

Typically I probably would have just kept it moving but because of the situation I really needed to get him a sandwich. When we leave his training we do pass a McDonalds on the way to the highway but none of their sandwiches would work for my son.

I wish there was a chipotle where we were, he loves that much more than subway!

7-11. Open 24 hours a day. They sell plenty of food.

Op again. I appreciate people suggesting other places to get food. I am well aware that subway is not the only place serving food on a Sunday night. However, it was the only place I was aware of that was close to where my son was training and had a non-meat option. So for me, Subway was the only feasible option in that moment.
And on 7-11 specifically I’m not sure what they have there that can suffice as a meal. Well for someone who does not eat meat, I mean. Oh and my kid does not like salad if someone was going to suggest that. LOL

My favorite. I'm a vegaterain. Special rules for me.

If I want to keep my job, yes. Are you serious with this question?

This. A third world problem would be trying to get some of the food ration distributions without being assaulted.

I'm glad you don't work retail anymore. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be more than happy to take this job. Entitled jerk.

I agree with the PP, they suck. And I don't work in retail.

Anyone who works retail for 10 years probably doesn't have much going for her.

A few years back we had a French student stay with us for the summer. We were returning from King's Dominion kind of late and stopped at a McDonald's - just closed!

The kid beat on the door and shouted, "Let me in - I am from France!"

It didn't work.
