As someone who has not yet purchased a home, I feel like if you are hoping to be a first time buyer you're battling uphill all the way. I'm very envious of those who purchased low pre-2005.

99.9% of DCUM posters. The rest are pretenders (I can tell by what they say and do)

22 (2013 college grad), $51k. I get by just fine, but I wish I didn't have to choose between saving for grad school and saving for a house down payment.

I teach in FCPS. I'm in my early 40's. I make 71K. (I was in another field for 10 years, so I'm not quite as high on the ladder as I might otherwise be at my age.) We haven't had step increases in 5 years.

Lots of people - accomplished professionals with Master's degrees - make far less than 100K. Amazing what people assume around DCUM!

Plenty of teachers in DCPS make $100k.

We do just fine on 50k...get some perspective people :3
