These are generally considered the historically most desirable DCPS elementary schools. They are located in upper NW, have hugely involved parent populations and have been doing a good job educating children despite DCPS for decades. There are other good DCPS elementaries as well, both in upper NW and other parts of the city. They are in expensive but not the most expensive neighborhoods in DC, as the most affluent have historically sent their children to private schools. You can generally count on your children attending school with a cohort of other children that (1) are being raised by educated parents and (2) arrive at school prepared to learn every day.
