Please, I run in the opposite direction when I see "the tennis lady".

And, OP, you need to check your attitude. The cute reference to those who may $250K as not really middle class in this area (as if you know anything about those folks -including mine- financial situations an what they can/cannot afford) had me not giving a %$$#$ about whether you're left out socially or not. You sound not really nice.

Get a grip. Why not say a prayer for your friend instead of proving your moral superiority to people discussing which club they might join. Wow - you're so enlightened! As if people who belong to clubs have never lost anyone. Get over yourself.
I thought that she provided a little needed context.
A little needed context? This string is about what clubs people might like to join, not about the morality of joining a club. The post was totally inappropriate and vulgar. It has no place in a reasonable conversation about what club a person would like to join. I'd agree with the poster if this were a string about cancer or how to deal with terminal illness, but it is a canard to say on a string where people are discussing a certain issue that "my friend is dying, ergo this string is lame (i.e., you people don't get it). I assure you, most on this string appreciate life/death issues, it's just that it is not the place to bring them up. How do you know "she" was a she?

Anonymous wrote:"But apparently the clubs have no locker rooms for women, given the number of women I see in tennis whites walking around town in Chevy Chase/Bethesda."
I belong to a club and I found this ROFLMAO!
