Women want guys who have good jobs, who make decent money and have a certain amount of social respect and status. That's just a fact. There's nothing wrong with it.

But, men generally *don't* expect these things from women. That's a big difference between men and women that a lot of professiobal women are loathe to acknowledge.

That's the recipe for divorce. You need a life partner, family partner and parental partner. Garnering too much money is just noise. Be wary of who you consider a role model.

It works out because the male is focused on office work 24/7 and the wife runs the house and raises the children. I doubt he is a real husband or father, he likely outsources everything and feels that his priorities are the only ones that matter.

who on earth are these men you speak of? the vast majority of dudes I know here in DC want a woman who's their intellectual equal -- I know a lot of men who out-earn their wives, but it's because he's a GS15 and she's finishing her PhD, etc etc.

Wow, there are a lot of people stuck in the 50s posting on here. I don't need or want to marry for money because I was brought up and taught that I can (and should) make my own money. I did, however, want to marry a college educated, hard working, ambitious man with good judgement, who treats me very well, respects me and loves me and is faithful, honest and a good person. Fortunately I found such a person and have been happily married for 24 years. We make the same amount of money. He is attractive but I value his other qualities (including great father and husband) more than his looks.
