Now England has joined the growing list of nations which have banned those under 16 years of age from using social.

Social media is toxic (especially for teenagers). Why are many of you so ignorant of this fact?

If its so toxic why are you here on social media?

OP here. I'll ignore the insult.

Your teen - and I say this earnestly - is very unique, IMO. Most 14-17 years olds do not have this kind of self-discipline, and in fact, psychiatrists and neurologists would all say their brains aren't yet fully capable of having that kind of self-discipline.

It will serve her well in the future.

But for the other 95% of teens who don't have what your daughter has, parents probably need to help them by setting boundaries.

OP, I am the PP you responded to here and I am just seeing this message weeks later.
I just wanted to say sorry that I insulted you. You said- you parents are the problem and I just responded in kind like well maybe you're the problem.
But I shouldn't have said that. It wasn't nice.
I know my kid (to be clear, my older kid) is disciplined and that is unique. My younger one is not, and he's not yet that into his phone but I may be in the same boat as you one day.
I empathize with your situation and I hope that you have found some good advice and things get better.
