I have no idea why so many posters are against shapes and waists.

Same.
The dresses have no waists because the women recommending them are fat.
They are the same women making fun of Deloitte face on the other thread.

Actually I feel like it’s the really skinny women who wear the shapeless no waist dresses. They look “breezy” on someone twiggy but look llle a tent ln th rest of us.
My big gripe is that at some point manufacturers moved the waist up on dresses — I feel like I need a drop waist to hit my natural waist. These short waisted dresses all make me look so pregnant. I would buy many more dresses if I could find ones with a proper natural waist. I have sometimes bought the Boden “tall” fit just to get the waist right.
I can’t wear the shapeless sack dresses because I’m too busty. They don’t sit right on a full bust and then they billow out from your chest and make you look really big in the middle. I also obviously need to wear a bra and can’t stand strapless bras so that adds an additional layer of complication.
Personally I have better luck with separates - shirts and skirts or skorts. Then I can get the fit that I need.
I have big boobs (DD) but shapeless dresses look great on me because I am tall and have thin arms and legs.
Dressing well is about understanding your proportions (separates look terrible on me, as they do most short waisted people)

Ooooh. This dress is a unicorn -- a sundress with a strappy style that has full back coverage.
Agree, this is really cute!
Anonymous wrote:This old navy dress is similar to the Ralph Lauren one posted. Doesn’t have the extra detail, but it’s cute - https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=886824002&vid=1&pcid=3053629&cid=3053629
They have some other ones that are cute also.
This could work if you’re short (otherwise would probably be too short) https://www.abercrombie.com/shop/us/p/bra-free-tie-front-denim-mini-dress-62528819?seq=02&cmp=PLA:EVG:20:A:US:X:GGL:X:SHOP:X:X:X:X

Love!! My favorite is the denim version.
NP
I would guess your IP address shows that you’re the same person who posted the tnuck dress. This is not going to be a good dress on anyone but the tall AND thin.
How are you seeing both IP addresses?
I can't see them. Jeff could. But they posted 6 mins apart, the second person 'enthusiastically' loving the first very vile posting. Seems a bit of a coincidence that someone "loves" that ugly dress but minutes after it was posted, late at night, on a sleeper quiet thread no?
10:49 is "late at night" for you?![]()
![]()
This explains so much.
DP. Is that supposed to be a dig? People who sleep are smarter and better looking than those who don’t, particularly those who spend the time trolling on the internet instead.
Oh, good grief. Yes, it was absolutely supposed to be a dig - at the obnoxious poster who insisted she knew who was posting "late at night." The point being, 10:49pm is not "late at night." No one is making a dig at you personally.![]()
![]()
You seem tired and cranky. Perhaps turn off the screen and get more sleep.
Ah. Found the self-proclaimed Tnuck sleuth.![]()
What does the fact I think it’s sad to spend the night hours snarking strangers have to do with a particular brand? Again, sleep will help you be more logical.
You are bizarre. You posted this later than my initial post (the one simply saying I loved a dress that someone else had posted). And here you are, "spending the night hours snarking strangers." Get a life, weirdo!
Stop!!! no one freaking cares! We are trying to talk about dresses.
