We're not touching anyone's precious religious holidays. We're not touching the two week winter break, we're not untying spring break from easter. We're just sending kids to school on two federal holidays, one of which is frequently in the middle of the week. I, for one, look forward to being able to go out to lunch with my spouse on Veteran's Day like we used to.
Wow.
What is so shocking about the bolded?

No learning occurs after May AP exams, SOLs, etc.
School should end in June, and almost all of the religious cultural holidays should be eliminated.
In particular, Chinese Lunar New Year, Eastern orthodox Christmas, Day of the Dead, and Diwali should be in school days.
I went to a school system that ended in May. If you push up the last day of school, you just push up the date where "no learning occurs after.."
I walked to school a mile uphill each way. Therefore, so should my kids. I was spanked, therefore my kids should be too. I was kicked out of the house at 18 and paid for college on my own…….
Just because you did it as a child, doesn’t mean it is the best or only way. Even if it feels the most comfortable to you.

School should end in early June, or Menorial Day weekend, and almost all of the religious cultural holidays should be eliminated.
In particular, Chinese Lunar New Year, Eastern orthodox Christmas, Day of the Dead, and Diwali should be in school days.

Here’s the thing. It will cost me zero dollars to hire childcare on Indigenous Peoples Day and Veterans Day since I will be off of work.
I will not have work off for the religious holidays that FCPC celebrates so will have to budget accordingly.
I wish it was the other way around.
I do support ending school on June 12th.
