Well, you won’t find Jesus inside of a public school today.
(Not saying that is a bad thing, but education on your religion is a reason some people select religious, private schools.)
Say what you will about Catholic schools, and of course there are exceptions, but they are so much closer to the ideal of universal education than other area privates. Even Prep.
As far as Jesus in publics, maybe not literally, but I've seen more of that in spirit at least. When you know you can't "counsel out" a child, you become a lot more committed to their success. Publics have to educate, after all, "the least of my people".
In contrast, top privates provide a kind of moral anti-education that you need to consciously counter as a parent.
“The least of my people” how pretentious. MCPS is incredible and anyone saying otherwise isn’t right
This is intended to point out that public school serve absolutely everybody, and cannot turn people away. I think you misinterpreted this as a comment on the average student, which it most certainly is not.
I am hoping that Maryland will go the route where private schools also can’t turn people away.

I think this more than a lot of other ridiculous posts on the private school forum says a lot about private school parent mentality. Well done. I love transparency.
And calling something “idiotic” isn’t entitled?

Anonymous wrote:It depends on which private school, but I think the poster’s point is a valid one…especially when it comes to elementary school. Public school at the elementary level is generally better, but too many folks balk at the very thought of doing public school and want to jump on the private school pipeline in the early stages…and many find out too late that it’s at their detriment.

Nah. I’m in wealthy area with less than 5% farms and pulled my DC out of public to go to cheap religious private. DC is learning the 3 Rs instead of how to tap and swipe.
Is the tech in publics that bad?

So diversity is great, just not diversity of political beliefs, got it. Sounds super "inclusive" lol.
