It is weak because Isreal makes sure it is weak.
Lebanon is pretty good at creating their own problems. It's a weak government with tons of corruption and a gazillion sectarian interests. With its Constitution dividing power among Sunni, Shi'a, and Maronite Christians, Lebanon will never have a strong central power that can counter an invasion from Israel. The Lebanese Army - such as it is - can't manage a traffic circle, much less urban fighting against Hezbollah or Israel. Technically, Lebanon has about 100 Soviet-era tanks and some Vietnam-era Huey helicopters. Who knows how many actually work. But basically, Lebanon has no capacity to defend itself from anything. A bunch of toddlers with squirt guns would be overwhelming for the Lebanese Army. Which is why Hezbollah, and years ago the PLO, are so powerful in Lebanon.
Really? I think Lebanon is a perfect example to Israel/Palestine of how a multi faith government and one state government can run.
Lebanon has the Sunnis, Shias, and Christian’s and Israel/Palestine has Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
I think because Lebanon is so diverse in this way, it is a threat to Israel.

How can we keep supporting this escalating violence? Or at least not call out connecting the dots?
We are parents here: if one of my kids pushes the other a fight is likely. I would certainly point a finger at both and not continue to supply the first with sugary snacks.
Are you saying it was ok for him to attack a synagogue in the US because his relatives were killed by Israeli strikes.
So the Jews who were at the synagogue, many who have never been to Israel or probably don’t support Israel are fair targets just because they have the same religion as the people in Israel.[b] Kinda like staying we should target all Muslims in the US since many Muslims in the Middle East support ISIS.
Also per Hezbollah. Up until last week. There have been no “recent” attack by Israel into Lebanese territory. Why would they bomb Lebanese territory recently???
Maybe because Hezbollah launched hundreds of rockets into Israel recently. So Israel is supposed just allow that to happen. And Lebanon is also responsible for any damage and deaths to its citizens as it allows Hezbollah to launch attacks from its territories.
