Did any of you have as many as your parents?Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Sure, but this is a recipe to have many of your children choose to never have children because of your selfish choices.
I really think a lot of people don’t get big families. I posted previously that my parents did this once with our big family. Amongst us, we have 24 kids. And those 24 kids already have like another dozen. So no, none of us were so traumatized that we chose not to have children. All of us had at least 2.

Anonymous wrote:F no. please parent the numerous children you chose to have. I am from a similar sized family and while I did help out while I was home for college my parents never left without an older adult to care for the younger ones.

But in case it is not- NO it is not reasonable. Are you crazy?!
Why not? When I was 16 I took care of my 18 month old niece while my sister and BIL spent a weekend in NY city. Of course, that was 40 years ago and I was a very responsible 16 yr. old.

The actual vacation is five days, not including flights.

I hope so. If not, can you imagine growing up in such a family where the parents would do such a thing?
I grew up in a large family as the eldest of 7 and babysit for weeks at a time, at 15-17. This was in the 80s, so a different time but If OP knows her daughter is capable then I wouldn’t say it’s that horrible.

Even licensed day cares can’t have one person supervise more than three under age 12 and you have four. Are you not aware of the local family of 12 kids whose infant died because the father thought the eldest daughter was taking care of it and vice versa? It was left in the car after church and died. Father went to
Prison. Mother was in Europe. I would call social services on this in my neighborhood and I’m not even a Karen.
