U of MD seem like a scumbag U as they hired a top level person from a school district that covered up teacher sexual harrassment. That person also got a golden parachute of tax dollars after her coverups.

Close friends kid majored in journalism there; met her husband there who was pre-med. She is now working at a p.r. agency and loves it and her fiance is in med school. Both of them loved the school - felt like a good combination of city-adjacent but not in the city, wide range of opportunities, interesting courses without being overly intense. FWIW, friend's kid was out of state (PA); her husband is local and went to a Baltimore-area private school...I want to say Gilman. They are 4 years out so perhaps the campus has changed a bit.

I think the way ^PP wrote that statement made it appear that their kid didn't like the tour itself, rather than they didn't like the school.

If the latter, then yea, makes sense that they don't want to there. But if the former, then it doesn't make sense to base a decision on a tour guide.

Ah, got it. Yeah, dropping a school because you don't like the tour guide isn't the best criteria.

CS and engineering are the only major is discussed, but what about outcomes/experiences with other majors?
