I honestly don't know. I fear they think we married for citizenship even though I never went through our marriage. Or maybe they lump me into the people they claim to hate because as a child I was here undocumented and they can't accept that. I'm truly not sure without a conversation with them. I thought we could at least have one not that they would give us the silent treatment
I'm an immigrant myself, a citizen after 20 years, and know immigration laws pretty well. Nobody gets deported for running a red light 20 years ago. This is just nonsense. I support ICE. Fully. I'm sick and tired of illegals sucking up resources just because they can. Your ILs are not picking up your message, because it's confrontational. They don't know immigration laws, just like you don't know immigration laws of say, Bulgaria. Not sure what you want from them? A promise you'll not get deported? They cannot give you that. If you used any resources before becoming a citizen, it may become a problem. They don't know what to say, because no matter what they say, it seems to be a problem for you. It's not their fault you were here undocumented as a child. In most countries, in fact in all I know, and I've lived and had long-term residence in 10 different ones, you'd get kicked out as soon as you're found out. I'm sure you had a better life here than in your home country, or you'd not have arrived here undocumented (and I hate this word, because you sure have documents somewhere). And if you hate it here or think you're entitled to stay no matter what and cannot, you know where your home country is.
for your sake, i hope you are a troll. But sadly, you likely aren't and won't understand how ridiculous you are until they come for you
You're ridiculous. I'm not afraid of anyone coming for me. I also have all my documents and am a dual citizen, so no, I have no problem whatsoever with enforcing immigration laws.
That’s cute you think you’re immune from mistreatment.
There is nothing cute about it. You don't know the immigration laws, simple as that. You only know about some abstract mistreatment, because someone somewhere said something that you didn't like or misunderstood. You have no idea of what my background is. As a coddled American you sound immature and instead of inciting drama, have decency to keep your nonsense to yourself.
I know the laws. Very well in fact. I won’t bore with how because it’s not up for debate. I also know they’re not being followed. Good for you that you live in a bubble that you feel safe in. I hope that continues and you aren’t harmed. You’re still a blowhard jackass who thinks because you haven’t experienced something it doesn’t exist, but I don’t wish ICE harm on you.
I don't wish ice harm on anyone. This whole this has gotten out of control. Going into schools, hospitals and court hearings to round up as many people as they can. No thought of the kids they are leaving behind and the families they are tearing apart. We were all for the lost if criminals when trump started and that made sense but now. It feels like at any point new rules can be made

You are delusional. ICE will come for you one day, and you will be on the receiving end. That you got yours and you don't want others to have the same opportunity is disgusting
People are not illegal. Some of them came here illegally, some by no fault of their own (brought here as babies or children by their parents), some to escape horrendous governments at their home countries, they should all be given an opportunity of having the American dream

That's actually not true. People are getting deported from DUIs in college that occurred in the 1990's. So, you're wrong. But you probably will never admit it, so this is wasted effort.
Do you want to say you're familiar with someone's immigration case? Because I can assure you that you are not. Don't believe what you read in the press. What are you trying to prove here? Nobody cares whether I'm wrong or right, it doesn't matter and there's nothing for me to admit. You sound ridiculous. Only your own immigration case matters.
I'm an immigrant just like you and I very much care. Because what you're spewing is propaganda as told you by Trump and Co. The PP stated what has been reported by credible sources (many of them). You may choose to believe Trump over the independent press but I sure don't. People are getting deported from their court hearings, people are getting deported after living here and contributing for 20-30 years into the system they will NEVER benefit from. It's quite disgusting that you are have chosen to believe what Trump sold you over what it's front of your eyes as an immigrant, nonetheless.
And her inlaws should absolutely know what is going on in their country. They should have basic familiarity with immigration and other laws. Claiming ignorance while choosing bigotry is no excuse.

Source for people getting deported from DUIs in college?
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:There are very few people who are truly stateless. Some countries don't accept deported citizens with criminal convictions, again hopefully doesn't apply to you. This is not the majority of illegals. Refugees have documents as they need to prove where they come from one way or the other. Most people who are "undocumented" know exactly where they came from and simply don't want to go back, because they're better off here. You are making circular arguments. I also don't get this fretting about a "good immigrant" status! If you're a young person, you already got free education, are bi-lingual and can easily find employment elsewhere. Do you realize that the US holds only about 4.3% of world population? There are people living everywhere! As soon as my kids are college bound, I'm out of here! Maybe we could do "undocumented" in-state tuition in some other state, whatcha think?!
If your kids are anything like you then I encourage all of you to leave the country.
Well, you see, since my documents are in order, I can go and live and work in several different countries without any problems any time I decide to do so. Sometimes I leave on a week's notice for an assignment. Your encouragement or other emotional theatrics will not decide what I do or do not. You on the other hand pack your bags and get ready to return to where-ever you came from. There are millions of people living there, no? I wonder how they manage without immigrating to the US? I personally don't want to pay for your "undocumented" stay here, my property taxes rose 50% in the last 5 years so that y'all could get free schooling and I want my purse back.
I'm the person you're responding to. I was born in Illinois.
