When choosing a sperm donor, you get pretty detailed bios that include education, occupation, medical history, physical characteristics among others. You choose the man you want to father your child. My friend's sperm donor had a masters degree and was an engineer.

I am a very successful attorney, and my ex-wife is an emergency physician. We rarely had time for each other or for our two young children. Both of us were working constantly, and our kids were effectively raised by strangers. There is nothing wrong with your daughter becoming an aerospace engineer, but she will likely end up with someone at her level or higher—not a plumber or a Walmart cashier—and that can become an issue. There can only be one driver in the car, because if you have two quarterbacks, you have none.
