Holy Cross football won 7 straight Patriot League titles prior to this poor season. At end of 23 season their fantastic Coach was hired by James Madison and now in contention for UCLA football coach vacancy. Even in this bad 3-9 year they drew 15,000 fans at Fenway Park. By contrast this years Amherst/Williams game got mere 4,000. Their crew team is top20, baseball made the NCAAs but underfunded lacrosse is weak.

Holy Cross for men’s lacrosse? I mean, if you are an average player and want to play DI I guess. Not competitive even in the average Patriot League.

Holy Cross recognition for sports?

Football last three years: 3-9, 6-6, 7-4

Men’s basketball last year: 13-19, 10-23, 10-22

Women’s hoops has done pretty well. Colgate has ice hockey which is a big draw in the middle of nowhere in Hamilton

Have we reached that point in the LAC thread, where everyone wastes time talking about the "prestige" of these schools that most of America have and never will hear about?

Look, there are things Holy Cross can offer, but none of it will be better than Williams or Amherst or whatever fancy Pomona-Swarthmore-Carleton smorgasbord you wish to pick from, and that's fine. It's a decent school with good resources, and you go your 4 years, make some memories, and get out ready to tackle a corporate job or what have you. This stuff isn't rocket science.

Everyone thinks of toothpaste when they hear Colgate, and holy cross sounds like your local catholic preschool. Go to an actual university for name recognition.

Bucknell and Colgate get football home game attendance in the hundreds. Lehigh draws well but not an LAC.
