wtf are you talking about OP?
Exactly. This whole thread is ridiculous.
The White House is subject to the city's environmental regulations. You think the administration can just do anything it wants? You think they could set up an oil refinery on the South Lawn and no one could say boo?
Federal enclaves are exempt from any local regulations. Yeah, they could.
Oh stop. Even Bowser's own advisers are pissed she's looking the other way on this.
Is it because they’re excellent muni lawyers, or because they’re dumb and angry?
The entire Department of Energy and Environment is really unhappy with the mayor.
And yet, DOEE has zero jurisdiction over the white house.
Of course, it has jurisdiction. It would be pretty weird if our air quality laws didn't apply to federal lands, given the massive amount of federal land in DC.
Why do you keep posting this stuff? Puerto Rico had a bombing range they hated and couldn’t do anything about. The locals can’t tell the feds what to do.
There was a big fight within the Bowser administration over whether to confront the White House on this stuff. If DC doesn't have jurisdiction (though it does), it sort of begs the question of why Bowser didn't warn the public that Trump was ignoring every environmental regulation on the books with the destruction of the East Wing. Reminder: asbestos causes cancer.
Receipts?
Ever heard of FOIA? You can read all about it.
There's no burden of proof on me to prove your fantasies. If they had these discussions, the moment the lawyers were consulted, the visions of permits quickly evaporated.
Why didn't Bowser warn the public that Trump was sending clouds of asbestos into the air of downtown DC?

Any evidence of these clouds of asbestos?
Asbestos fibers are microscopic, odorless and tasteless. You breathe them in without realizing it. There's no such thing as a safe level of exposure. You won't know you've been exposed until you get sick. They cause cancer.

the real time video footage of the demolition.

Because he doesn't give a shit about environmental laws? The question here is why Bowser didn't warn the public. Does she not give a shit either?
That’s one question. Another is why you’ve decided that it’s up to Bowser to run interference for your demented president. Surely he has staff for that. Nope, you’d rather blame the mayor of the city that is already in Trump’s crosshairs, including a military presence. Now why is that?
And, to answer you question, her job is not to monitor your shitty President and clean up after his shit. Wallow on.

That's not at all what happened. There was a massive debate within the Bowser administration over this. It went all the way up to the mayor, and many are very angry that she is giving Trump a pass.
Then the “many” need to spell out exactly what Bowser should have done — within the very real limits of her authority— while also attempting to spare DC from Trump’s well-known wrath.
I suspect that many of these anti-Bowser comments are being made by people who feel certain that they themselves won’t be impacted by things like ICE and the National Guard occupation, and who don’t care very much about those of us who daily risk paying the price for their sheltered hubris.
What? Bowser has practically rolled out the red carpet for ICE.
No, she hasn’t.
Small words here: For those of you who think Bowser should be doing something, have the balls to state exactly what you feel that should be — and how she has the authority to do so. Unless you can’t. Unless you, along with Trump have some vested interest in absolving Trump of all of the responsibilities that should go along with his office. Unless your sole goal here is stirring up acrimony and pro-MAGA BS.
