I see a lot of people fear mongering about this. Please list how you have been directly impacted by any of the so call dictatorship or authoritarian gov up to this point?

DP, but since you have asked...

I have been asked for papers.
I have been held up in "check points"
I have friends and families who have list their jobs from illegal firings

I am a white, native born American.

So assuming you are telling the truth you have been inconvenienced twice and experienced something a lot of people go through having friends or family members be let go from a job?

It's the "illegally" part that's the problem. They aren't following the constitution. This is a threat to anyone who expects due process or freedom of speech moving forward. Making up a phantom menace in Antifa impacts all of us.

Show where these things are unconstitutional.

The most important book you can read this month is the Captive Mind.

DP but we're a well-educated, 3rd generation DC born and raised family, and we've been affected. DW is a Fed, so her agency has been hectic to say the least since January. I run a small business with government contracts, and properly appropriated and contracted funds are just frozen even after out team did the work and paid for expenses (cost-reimbursement contract). My brother has a visible, political job in DC, and he's received death threats but no longer gets security. I think because of my brother, I was doxxed and my small business has been harassed by MAGA and we had to close the doors to the public (but still operational).

We like to think we're a pretty well-insulated, run of the mill family, and yet here we are.

So you’ve been renting off the American public and it’s all coming crashing down. Funny how that works

No, they've been SERVING the American public. Do you want a reliable postal service? Medicare? Social Security? All of this is brought to you by the service of your fellow Americans. You should be grateful. I am.

They’ve been completely brainwashed into thinking that they don’t deserve a return on their tax money.

I was reading it hoping that there would be a few replies saying we are over reacting and it’s not going to happen here in the U.S. I cannot believe this is where we are as a country, I cannot stop thinking about what life is going to be like in the coming years. I am scared for my children. I don’t know where to go or how to get my husband on board with the possibility of leaving.

the problem for most americans is, there is no where to go without literally going over the MX or CA borders illegally. Ironic, no?

DP. What are you talking about? We are still allowed to leave. The irony is the fact that other developed countries with high living standards don’t allow Willy-nilly immigration and that is part of what makes them desirable in the first place.

No. Those places are desirable because they stole and plundered from everyone else, then when they'd bled a region dry, they left it in utter chaos and without their resources, then they shut their doors to immigrants from the countries they destroyed.

These places arent desirable because they don't allow immigrants. They are desirable because they took everything and ran, and locked the doors behind them.

Japan doesn’t quite fit that.

Hahaha ask a Korean

The bolded was obvious from the rest of your self-indulgent post.

Why? I’m just being honest about who I am. Are you scared and worried or not?

As a white person- you’ll be fine as long as none of your kids ‘crosses the color line”. Y’all forget that this was a fascist country for anyone not of European extraction until the various acts passed in 1964- and that the SC has said that the voting rights act (1964) is unnecessary after all this time. It will also help if you are able to be in the top 20% of earners/net worth wise and keep it that way (don’t squander your money!)

I've experienced the first two in Japan many many times as a resident.

Stop. There will be. But it will be a HUGE lift because Democrats are going to have to over perform six points just to break even.

So start find a group to volunteer with that registers voters in swing states now. Fund them as well.

There was a special election in AZ- yet to be recognized. Why should we think midterms in 2026 will be different?

This posture seems to be an excuse to do nothing. Anything is possible but nothing is possible if you don’t try.
