What fox news told you? Sigh….

DP. Again with the "fox news" when you are proven wrong? Are you quibbling with Reuters?

Advertising revenue for Colbert's show has dropped 40% since 2018 - the financial reality that CBS said prompted the decision to end “The Late Show” in May 2026.

NP here: as much as I’d like to chalk it up to Fox News BS, I just had a conversation with a friend who works for CBS, he says it’s a big money loser. CBS nightly news and morning show are likely next.

Jon Stewart used to be the most witty, irreverent man on TV and he consistently brought in amazing new talent like Colbert and Oliver. Now they all give "old man shaking fist at the sky." I'm glad that the execs over Colbert had the nads to pull the trigger.

If you don't watch it, why do you care if a late night show exists?

I’m not the PP but I am a former regular viewer who is sad about how awful the show has become since about 2019. I even tried to go to a live viewing a few times. Of course I care, I used to watch almost daily.

+1

John Oliver needs to go next. I used to watch all of them. They haven’t been funny or relevant in years. They went from joking to hectoring and it’s simply not funny.

It doesn’t surprise me that the average age of a Colbert viewer is something like 67. Essentially only DCUM posters and Tim Walz find him funny any more.

Please go back and read the article. Ad revenue is down. It doesn’t mean the show is not profitable.

This is all about Trump and his tantrums.

OMG. I suggest *you* go back and read the article. Ad revenue is what makes a show profitable. Good grief. They're bleeding to the tune of $40 million a year. But sure, continue blaming every single thing that you don't like on Trump. You look absurd.

Not funny. Not smart. Not watchable. Acute TDS. He’s a real catch.

We get it, you're not a fan. Yet here you are on a Colbert show thread.

Right? These old guys are unfunny progressive state propaganda hacks. Colbert used to be very clever and witty — but now he’s just an insufferable holier than thou dweeb. Honestly get a closeted gay vibe from him as well.

Here he is dancing with Chuck Schumer.

These guys get too rich, too elitist, and too old. They’re washed up and hang on too long. Letterman was an unfunny crank pompous a-hole old man mailing it in for 5+ years before he finally retired.

Not bleeding. The show is profitable. What else can CBS put in that place that will have more profit? The answer is nothing.
