Men are mostly a sad bunch.

Most men are decent humans. Some men are monsters.

43% of men have admitted to sexually assaulting someone since the age of 14. How many men do you think didn't admit to it?

"some" men aren't monsters. At least half of all men are sexual predators. So no. Not most are decent. Most are the monsters.

43% of men where? 43% of how many men? Where was this study conducted? A prison? Please sight the study where they interviewed every single man in the world or just in America. I will reiterate: MOST men are decent people. SOME men are monsters.

Google is free. No need to be a rape apologist. Not a good look for a woman.

The first study they cite includes 300ish college males. This isn't about forcible rape. It is about coersion and tactics those makes use to obtain sex. I am not a rape apologist. I am a critical thinker.

I didn't call it forceable rape. I called it sexual assault. You are still a rape apologist. Apparently unless it was "forceable" it doesn't count? Youre a POS and a rape apologist.

Wow. I just thought of a second time.

Walking home from the metro after work. A car stopped. The guy inside asked if I wanted a ride.

There are also creeps at the Black Cat. Just a few months ago, a guy was getting into my personal space when there was enough room around us. The space was not that crowded. I turned and stared for a bit. When I turned away, he seemed to evaporate. I guess I should have reported it, but you never know if you'll end up talking to some dude who will just roll their eyes.

Yep, my mom quickly ran into the grocery store and a man tried to lure me and my sister out of the car with one of those handheld games where you try to roll a small silver ball through a maze. We kept the door locked and told him to go away, but weirdly enough didn’t tell our mom when she returned minutes later.

Oh! Just last week, in a hotel, a man asked if he could ride the elevator with me. I said no.

I think he ended up being a real guest. But not my job to give him a ride or to possibly die that day. The desk clerk can do that. Nope. Not happening. Too much trafficking in hotels, and sometimes the desk clerks are in on it...

NP but you're moving the goalposts. You asked for substantiation of PP's statement that 43% admitted to sexual assault, now you're saying it doesn't count if it isn't forcible rape. That's . . . pretty much the definition of rape apology, sorry to tell you.

43% of 300 is 129 males who admitted to using coersivevtactics to have sex with a female. Even the authors of the study stop short of calling it forcible rape. As an aside, there is a difference between relenting and regretting and being physically forced.

Yes. Near the black cat. People in a van, and I ran away before they could get me.

Also many instances of men showing me their p-nis, grabbing my breasts (one happened in the doorway of Kramerbooks), and at least one instance of a man rubbing his p-nis on my butt as I stood on a metro train. After that, I wore thick winter coats as long as I could.

In downtown Bethesda, near the hotel plaza, a man yelled at me and I yelled back about his scrotum, which surprised him. By age 16, I was already sick of the abuse...

It happened so often that I started to feel comfortable making fun of them for their p-nis size...In one case, I told a man that I would not go around showing that off...

I was like oh lord no way....but then I remembered that time a couple of rednecks followed me in their truck while I was walking down a country road. Super scary. Almost kidnapped...no. Harassed and intimidated? 100%.

I don’t know. I think a lot more men than you might think have done skeezy things - there’s a continuum, from creepy stares to assault. Of course we’ll never learn about it. Most women are ridiculed and shamed for even mentioning it. Of the *several* girls I knew as a child who’d been raped, they were all disbelieved or told it didn’t happen or told not to talk about it. That’s really the essence of rape culture. Apologism for the perpetrators - overwhelmingly men - and attacking the victims.

I think it’s a cornerstone of the patriarchy. Why do you think rape is universally used as a weapon of war? It traumatizes its victims, which in turn makes them disoriented, confused, fearful, paralyzed, stuck. We could say there’s a global war on women and children given the embarrassment of violations - but what’s really being done about it? Where’s the “war on rape”? I mean, Trump talked about grabbing them by the you-know-what and he was STILL elected president. TWICE.

I think a huge missing element is men holding other men accountable. I’ve heard so many stories from friends over the years about the sexual violence they’ve experienced. Are you telling me men have no awareness or knowledge of what other men do? I mean, of course they do: look at Epstein. And by the way, a woman is the only person who’s served time for the trafficking operation he led; we still don’t know who’s on that client list. If I had to guess, I’d venture that we never will.

^^and I am one of the pps who has actually been kidnapped. I have been harassed, followed, catcalled and cussed out by boys and men starting at 8 years old. I was raped. I still believe that most men are good people.

Beach week after high school, two guys (one I had dated and thought was a friend) wouldn't let me leave the room we were in until I had let them take a nude picture for them since they needed it for college rush evidently. I was able to talk them out of it, but they were pretty insistent. This was the 80's.

Yes, I am pretty sure looking back. Some 30-ish year-old guy at a, interstate rest stop in business clothes asked me for a ride to a job, or job interview. I was in college. I'm glad I said no bc I usually was pretty meek and obedient back then.
