It’s not just California who will leave. It is all blue states. You people are f’ing idiots.
You left out the the high state income taxes, the highest marginal rate is 12.3%. That alone would keep me out. I have visited many times, but would not want to live there.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:All the drivers of Ca and Washington and Oregon economy like big tech, the movie industry, Nike, and other big companies would move headquarters immediately to the eastern US if those western states seceded.
The power is in America as a block.
Not likely. Their highly talented and educated workforce would not want to move. And those jurisdictions would give them every incentive to stay.
Everyone wants to move from California high crime, drugs and expensive cost of living
Its like Yogi Berra time on DCUM...nobody goes there anymore, its too crowded.
The fact is, if more people could afford to live there, more people would. It is expensive, but between the beaches and mountains and economy in general, it is a very desirable place to live, even with the fires, earthquakes and heavy rains on occasion.

Even doing this non-violently was enough to declare insurrection during Shay's Rebellion.

There aren't borders that can be protected. On the other hand a civil war now would destroy the US economy, and the public would see Trump as the reason it happened. I don't think it gets that far, but it also isn't out of the realm of possibility.
As it is, state compacts between CA/OR/WA already make a trading block and the same has or is happening with eastern states, so perhaps Russia gets its fever dream of a weaker north America.
Dumbest idea of all time. And what currency would CA/OR/WA use for International trade even assuming any country would trade with them? They would be cut off from banking and US currency. Individual states have no ability to back their currency even if they tried to invent their own. And even fewer countries would accept payment in CA dollars,.lol.
You Dems are truly delusional and haven't really thought it through, have you? Individual states would collapse immediately after being cutout of the banking system and from US currency. They'd lose all ability to obtain good from abroad, which is where tons of energy, food, and medicines come from.
First of all, this isn't a "dem" idea...the idea of splitting up the country has been the southern dream for more than a century and it has been fomented by Russia for decades.
Second, some states would fare better than others. A block of CA/OR/WA would control the west coast, have port access and economic opportunities as the 3rd largest economic country in the world.
I am not sure how well the former confederacy would do. Other than the Mississippi corridor, there isn't a lot there to spur jobs and growth.
Lmao..sure, you'd control the west coast with what navy, Air Force and army? California has zero destroyers, aircraft carriers, and AC gunships. As if they could take them over and run it themselves.
Lolol. De lu lu clown.
lol why would republicans fight to keep California? Besides California contributes the most personal to the US military. It’s just not California leaving. If California leaves no blue state would want to remain.
But let’s talk about your scenario. How is the US Pacific fleet supplied? Where does all logistics move through? Might want to look in to that before attacking California. Remember China will be watching.
Attacking California? Corerction: You mean attacking the leftist DNC and their operators in California.
You all seriously haven't thought this through, but it is clear you want a civil war to re-litigate the one from 150 years ago. You haven't gotten over the fall of the confederacy or the New Deal and today's actions are an attack on both. It is really quite sad.
Last time Andrew Jackson, a Democrat, threatened to hang John Calhoun. Calhoun took it seriously and backed down.

Can California also cut of giving taxes to the federal government? Can they leave the union? Will this be the beginning of an actual split in states?
They can leave the union. The talk is Washington, Oregon and California leaving the Union and joining Canada as three provinces. Trump and the Republicans will happy let them go. All republicans hate California and the west coast.
Yet, there are millions of Rs in the west coast.
If CA ever moved to Canada, we might actually move back to CA.
the only problem with that map is that parts of PA and VA would likely want in...and what would happen to the college football conferences? Because that matters to a lot of MAGAs.
The big problem with the map is Colorado and New Mexico. They would want to join California but are cut off. Maybe a deal could be reached with Mexico for free movement? Texas has a very strong independent movement. They will not join California movement to Canada but would leave at the same time.
I think most people would be very excited and supportive of this.
The fact that we can even have a rational discussion about this is scary AF.
