On the other hand, since they are now title 1, I'm terrified my child will be in the same school and classroom as poor brown children.
The poor brown children's moms make amazing food and you get to try it once a year. There is no way that ATS will decline its waitlist and yes, we can pin it to 2030. I'll still be wasting time on this hell site.

I think you missed the sarcasm.

+1 it’s hilarious reading comments from liberals rooting for a public school to fail
It's hilarious reading a sock puppet who nobody agrees with.

But why won’t other high FARMs schools get the same federal money?
Because APS has to redo boundaries. ATS won’t be affected by those changes. Fleet and Innovation will.
Sure.
And why are they applying for Title 1 status NOW, when the FRL hasn’t changed much the past few years?
PP may be right that ATS has been watered down and not doing as well.
Because the VPI changes have filtered through all grades now. It’s reliably at title I levels and VPI means it will stay there.
What a shame for the other schools that also meet the criteria. Inequitable really.
To be fair we don’t know that those schools aren’t also in process of getting it. ATS has the posting but that doesn’t mean others won’t soon. (I work at one of the schools but don’t have any inside info, I do know we have had a lot of students leave in the last few months)
leave why?

Idk why you always post this every time ATS comes up.
Because it’s true?

So confused why ATS (may be) considered Title I while Innovation and Fleet may not be. I haven't seen the official announcement, but this does seem wrong.
Are the demographics for those schools expected to change? Maybe they will apply after the next boundary changes.
PP said VPI change was made at ATS in 2020. Probably enough history now to see the pattern at ATS.
Innovation will turn higher farms with the new giant Marbella tower opening in the fall. They should be Title I before ATS.
Weirdly the only elementary school they are offering transfers to next year is Science Focus to Innovation. Is that Marbella tower not going to fill Innovation?
I will be surprised if the second Marbella tower ever gets built. Seems like they can't figure out how to finance it.
My hunch is APS is planning boundary changes to fill innovation. It will be less farms.
