One of my friends is a pediatric ER nurse practitioner, and she works long shifts with unusual hours, and sleeps late on weekends while her husband takes “first shift” with the kids. You can’t “envision” a world that includes health care workers, firefighters, police officers, factory workers, and other people who don’t have 9-5/M-F jobs? You “can’t envision” a world with truck drivers, plumbers, emergency electricians, and IT people who have to go in at all hours if a server is down? Really? You can’t “envision” that?

Real Moms are fully dressed in the Living room with Make up on at 8am ready to pounce on husband and kids for not getting up and making breakfast and coffee for her.

On Mother’s Day? The limit does not exist. The limit does not exist! Mothers have to get up every day to get people ready for school, go to work, take people to sports and dance and tutors and practices and lessons…FFS if a mom can’t sleep in on Mother’s Day without judgment, there is something wrong with society. And by the way, “sleeping in” does not necessarily mean “I am asleep.” It means I am laying in bed, doing as I please, maybe sipping some coffee, and don’t disturb me until you see the whites of my eyes.

This makes no sense. If you have a smart phone, you have the luxury of setting DND. If you may receive emergency calls, you can create those exceptions very easily.

Also, "decent hour" is subjective. People travel, live in different time zones, and work different hours. Perhaps you have the luxury of waking up at 8am on a weekend - many people don't.

Sending a scheduled text is the way to go. You can schedule send anytime, and the recipient will recieve it.

Doesn’t matter. Turn your phone off or leave it in another room. My kids are on the east coast. I’m on the west coast. I don’t have my phone in my bedroom because they text at all hours of the day. If you’re annoyed by texts there is a super easy fix.
