Congress and other GOP politicians don’t fear him and constituents don’t like him. Without Trump actively in the picture, Vance could even, eventually, be impeached or resign. He has minimal political experience and even less apparent political appeal. People enthralled by or intimidated by Trump wouldn’t necessarily have similar allegiance to Vance.

Unfortunately, power would then slide to the Speaker of the House. The US really needs a process for calling new elections, especially if it’s found that the results of an election were fraudulently obtained.

I would gladly take a Johnson/Thune administration over the current one.

I disagree. For so many reasons. There is no "worse" than what we have now. The biggest difference is that no one will fear Vance. Congress will do it's job. We will have checks and balances again.

Also, will Elon Musk own Vance the way he owns Trump? I doubt it. The biggest proof to me that Trump has some form of dementia is that he has allowed Musk to take over, steal the spotlight, have all the power.
